What is it that you do at KLAS?

I am the Receptionist at KLAS. I am usually the first contact point for our clients. I have a huge variety of different tasks to do each day which keeps me very busy! I greet our lovely clients whether it’s in person or answering the phones, handling all manner of enquiries, general admin stuff. I am also the person who does the final putting together of Tax documents for clients to sign.

What do you love about your position?

I really like the interaction with clients. I like to try to please people, so if I can help someone in any way or just be a friendly face or voice on the phone, then that makes me feel good. And I love that each day is kind of the same but then completely different if that makes sense. I also love that I have been given the flexibility to have a couple of days a week where I can finish a little early to be there for my kids after school.

Give us the Scoop on your WHY you do what you do

Well really for me it’s all about creating a better life for my children, and for myself. And if I can do that while working somewhere that I love, providing administrative support to our awesome team and clients, then how lucky am I? I have always worked (when I wasn’t taking time out for the kids) in customer focused roles, so this is a great way for me to really get back into a professional working environment. I have learnt sooo much since I have started at KLAS. It has been invaluable to me as an employee and as a person.

What is the most ‘Kooki’ or ‘fun’ activity you do at KLAS, I hear you have an ‘email-a-thon’ Monday mornings on the weekends events and that Tenterfield close early for Family time Fridays, what’s your favourite KLAS habit?  (tips, achievement jar, casual Thursday, skipping if we are feeling crappy, self love September)

It’s not really a kooki thing, but  I’m a coffee and chocolate kind of girl, so I love when we all have our NEED for chocolate that we just break it out and share the love.

What do you love most about working at KLAS?

As I have said, I do love the client interaction. I love the personal growth it has given me and I really hope that I am giving something back in return.  But I think mostly for me it would it have to be the incredible group of women that I work with every day. They are all so supportive professionally and personally….And they have a great laugh!!

What has been your biggest lesson whilst at KLAS?

Almost everything! I took a lot of time out of the workforce to raise my four children, and a lot has changed in that time.

Who or what brand are you inspired by and why?

I’m not really inspired by any one particular person or brand. I think we can learn so much from keeping our eyes and minds open to the everyday. I find it inspiring to see people that have real passion for what they do, and do it to improve the lives of others and not just for themselves.

What is your favourite quote?

That’s a hard one. I’m really quite into quotes at the moment. And I’m at a certain point in my life where I find I am seeking some inspiration and direction.

F.E.A.R.   has two meanings- Forget Everything And Run  OR Face Everything And Rise........The choice is yours.

And also a cute little one… Friends are therapists you can drink with.

How do you spend your time when you are not at KLAS?

With four kids I’m kept pretty busy doing all the after school stuff, getting kids organised, sorting out all the arguments, lol, and lots of cooking! It gets super busy during footy season with training and travel for games on weekends.

For me personally, I love any kind of sport. I play squash, go for early morning walks – which I’m trying to turn into runs, love snuggling up and watching a good movie or reading a book. And I love going out for a nice dinner. I think these are all my ‘wishlist’ items actually – not things I really do!

What are you most grateful for?

My beautiful children. They truly are an absolute gift even though they might drive me nuts sometimes. I was never  completely certain I would be a mother, I am so grateful to be on this lifes’ journey with four such different personalities. And I am grateful for where we live. Tenterfield has so much natural beauty. But then I have always appreciated everywhere I have lived for each place’s uniqueness.

What is your ideal Holiday?

At the moment…anywhere would be nice!! But I have a couple that I am aiming for. The Maldives…oh my! I would love to experience  New York for a few days, and there’s a castle in Scotland that I’m dying to visit. And one day I will go back to Canada….

For the next few years though a week or two with all the kids is perfect before they start leaving home.

How do you like your coffee?

A latte on fat milk thank you.

Is there anything else you would love to share about KLAS that the world needs to know?

Well I’d like to know Kristen Lovett’s secrets for having so much energy all the time -  the woman is a little powerhouse!
